FINAL

She had imagined this moment so many times, but she never expectedthat being there would not cause her any nervousness. She did not have to pass any entry exams to which she was so used and also realized that with the change she even lost weight, which is why she felt tremendously happy and this time without demanding diets. For the first time her arthrosis had stopped bothering her and she decided to take a walk trying to make new friends. After all, everyone had much in common in this new stage that promised to be eternal. Being dead was new to her.
Gaia

She had imagined this moment so many times, but she never expectedit to happen so suddenly. She is wearing her new black blouse, perfect for the occasion, and her favourite shoes. As she is making herself up, she is humming a song. Only one detail is missing: the earrings that woman gave her for their wedding. "Where can they be?" She looks in the mirror. She looks radiant.
When her husband comes in to tell her that they have to go to the church, she hides her smile and gazes at him with sorrow. He looks awful. Well, that's normal when you spend the night at your mother's wake.

SEMIFINAL
Ganadores

I restlessly step back and the envelope slips from my hand, having such bad luck that a man who prowls around there catches it. “That guy looks familiar to me”, I say softly. And, I am not mistaken. Mrs. X accused me of murder a few years ago and ever since she has made my life impossible. This is no accident. We both knew that the only culprit of this story was him and that in that envelope was each and every one of the tests that showed it. I have had the truth very close, however…
Black mirror

It took me a while to ring the bell. It’s just delivering the notification, but it’s hard to bring this news. Three days have passed since the execution; Mary must know how her son died. She’s a saint, she doesn’t deserve this.
The door opens, and what my eyes see baffles me. I restlessly step back and the envelope slips from my hand. I’m so angry that I shout.
-“You’ve done it again! I told you that if you resurrected anew, you should let me know! Do you know the paperwork I’ll have to do now?”
-“Sorry man, it’s been a complicated week”
-“Don’t give me that J.C.!"

Magnanimous

It was easy to buy the necessary products online. My body has been deteriorating and I am totally dependent on a family that suffers the degradation of this cruel disease, ALS. I am calm because I choose dying with dignity and I take one last step and drink the lethal mixture that will first cause me a sleepiness and a subsequent cardiorespiratory arrest. I breathe deeply and I restlessly step back and the envelope slips from my hand. Inside, the testimony of my hard decision. Here assisted suicide is prohibited and unfortunately I cannot receive any support from my family or medical assistance. After years of suffering I will be free.
Arrabal

As every day, the alarm clock with that note reminds me I have to read those letters. I open the drawer and take the first envelope:

“You’ve got the most wonderful wife in the world. Maria’s got the prettiest eyes and smile in the world. Her favourite flowers are daisies and you always give her a huge bouquet on her birthday to remind her that you’re hopelessly in love with her…”

At that moment, someone opens the door. I restlessly step back and the envelope slips from my hand. It’s her. I remember everything. I can’t tell my family the truth yet. I have Alzheimer and I wrote those letters not to forget them..

SEGUNDA RONDA

Starvation made his legs ache. A young woman appeared and they sat next to each other, pretending to be strangers although they grew up together. He avoided her glance; she tried to smile at him. However, the time they had to live didn’t allow them to focus on petty enjoyments. He was anxious that she could tell and finally find out the dreadful end, which he was escaping from. An army truck stopped beside them. People ran away discreetly; he couldn’t escape. She hugged his arm tightly and forced him to go across the street. Nevertheless, nobody was paying attention because she was covering his star of David.

New job, news workmates. The company seemed very strict: no emotional relationships at work.
He was eager to start new professional challenges. Nevertheless, she had been working in the company for some time. The same company. He switched on his laptop and received an e-mail. Meeting at 12:00 hours. He took his new notebook and pen. It was prepared and there they were. They sat next to each other, pretending to be strangers. No one realized. There were no looks. They are married, but they will have to keep their secret.

Secret marriage

It was 3 in the morning and from my window I could see how they sat next to each other, pretending to be strangers. However, none of this was real. My subconscious, once again, was betraying me. In fact, lately, it had happened to me very often. It was only a few months since I left my boyfriend, and since then, I had not been the same as always. It was at that moment when a strange sensation ran through my body. Who am I? I wondered.
Moonlight

They sat next to each other, pretending to be strangers. While she looks around, he slides his hand to meet hers. The first step. They still haven’t looked at each other but her gaze shines as never before. A second step. He kisses her gently on the cheek. Now, her smile is undisguised and she cannot help staring at him. Another step. Without being able to restrain himself more, he embraces her. There is no need to see more. I breathe deeply and take my last step. As I fall into the void, I’m not able to remember a single time in which she has looked at me that way.
Goryo

They sat next to each other, pretending to be strangers. Nothing could fail; they had to leave the room without anyone noticing.
I walked towards them slowly. The sweat was falling on my face and wetting my new black suit. My legs and my hands trembled. I looked into their eyes and then I looked at the other people who were there. It was the moment; I stood in front of them. I opened my jacket covering their bodies. At that moment the silence was made. Suddenly the audience stood in applause without stopping; they had completely disappeared. This was my first great magic trick.

Poison

They entered the train car. They sat next to each other, pretending to be strangers. She began to read her new book, he turned on his ipod. Everyone around them ignored who they were. However, all of them knew the most important news of the day: the man who had controlled their lives for the last fifty years, the most disgusting man in the world, the person who had finished with the dreams and ambitions of the whole country, the most awful person that anyone has ever known had just died; someone had killed him. For an instant they crossed their looks; then they smiled. Life had begun.
SATRAPI

The food was scarce, the work was exhausting and the only thing that gave them strength was being together. It was difficult not to be able to show their feelings or remember the moments together. The threatening shadow of the anthropologist Mengele always kept them alert. That morning when the bloodthirsty doctor inspected the barracks to recruit new victims for their cruel investigations, they sat next to each other, pretending to be strangers to avoid being recognized and to escape a death that persecuted them by the condition of their birth. When the allied troops released the field, finally those twins fell into each other’s arms. They survived Auschwitz!
Shungi

They’d been talking for seven months. They knew all about each other: the music they loved, their favourite food... that he loved sports and his dog; and she loved dancing and adored her sister. It was as if they knew each other for a lifetime.
One day, they convened for a drink.
It all started on 17th February 2013, when she received a message: “You have a match”. She looked at the photo. Next message: “Do you want to chat with him?”
But, at that moment, in that bar, they sat next to each other, pretending to be strangers. It was easier to talk through the computer screen.

The Mad Hatter

PRIMERA RONDA
Ganadores

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. I had just witnessed a horrible murder. I was in my garage when, between another two cars close to mine, a shot sounded. I turned my head and saw a man over another (man) lying on the floor. I quickly crouched. After that, I tried to get into my car without making any noise but it was impossible, so I stayed quiet. I saw the man open the boot of one of the cars and introduce the other man in it. I waited for him to go away and finally I got into my car and drove to the police office
TeFiti

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. It was a January night and my eyes could not believe what they were seeing. “It’s her”, I said softly. Every newspaper talks about it, but… it cannot be. “They say they kidnapped her! That a man…!” It was the last thing I said. At that moment, a man grabbed me from behind. I tried to escape but it was too late.
Although many years have passed since that, I still tremble when remembering. They were moments of great tension. Fortunately it was only a few hours; the worst hours of my life.

Serendipity

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound.
In a few seconds everything changed. My heart broke. I saw it all. It was night. It was bad weather. It was snowing, cold and very dark.
I told Peter that was important to me, but I saw how he hid in the building and kept the book in his pocket.
I remember that I asked him not to read it, but he didn’t respect my decision.
He opened the book and began to read all the pages.
From that moment, he hasn’t been able to find me. He knows my secret and nothing will be the same.

White light

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. He continued breaking the padlock. My breathing began to speed up. I was sweating although it was cold. He got to open the door and he went to the window. He struck the window with his shoe and he broke the glass.
At that moment, I ran behind him with my heart in my mouth. Of course I knew it was dangerous but I was furious.
When I caught up with him, I hit him in his head with my pistol so he learned the lesson. This man wanted to rob my dad and he ended dead.

The good son

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound watching a boss to whom I’ve dedicated my life. After thirty years, he gets rid of my services. I have been watching him daily. On Fridays, he finishes his week at the “Copas” club. On that particular evening, I found him under diffused blue lights, on a couch, accompanied by a couple of girls who called him “Monchi”. Don Ramón was half-hidden behind infinitely long eyelashes, and a corset that failed to hide his excess rolls of flesh. Today, accompanying the contract with a pay rise, was the request to remove what was described as an insignificant event from my camera.
Wifi

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. I did not understand what was happening, I had finished my work day and I was going to the car to return home when I saw two people in the parking lot arguing. I thought I had heard a shot. I was trembling; I just wanted to cry and run away. I picked up my phone and called the emergency services. Suddenly the parking lot was silent. I approached and saw my co-worker lying on the floor. Luckily, he was not hurt. He had had his wallet and jewelry stolen.
Valentine

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. They were coming in my direction. The ball had fallen on the back of the car; I had seen what they had done to other children of my class; my legs trembled, my mouth was completely dry, my eyes were about to cry and their footsteps accelerated my heart. Suddenly it was all in complete silence. I closed my eyes and a strong hand grabbed my shoulder. I looked up and saw a policeman who quietly told me: “Do not be afraid anymore, bullying in this school is over”.
Windmill

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. I felt scared; the man who had been following me was on the other side of the car. I could hear his quick breathing just a few steps from me. Everything happened really fast, I was wandering down the street when we saw each other. We immediately recognized each other. I couldn’t believe it. I had met him on the other side of the world during the worst time of my life. He saved me and now I was fleeing from him, fleeing from my old life.
ARTEMISA

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. She was there, walking placidly down the street. So beautiful,
so engaging. She crossed the street with haughty manners, challenging me. I ran behind her; I was supposed not to be seen.
Quiet street, only her footsteps could be heard. I chased her. Worried that she could recognize me, I hid my face behind my scarf.
I rushed through the shortcut passage and arrived her home first. The door was open, so I snuck inside the darkness trembling with excitement. Then, silence.
And the moment came, the door opened again, the lights switched on and everybody shouted:
“Happy birthday!”

The Stalker

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. It’s dark. I have goosebumps. I can’t remember what happened. The heartbeats don’t let me think but in the end I regain lucidity.
We’ve been together for many years. Everything has been perfect; but today, something was different; his gaze wasn’t the same as always.
I was awakened shivering for no reason. Suddenly, I received a hit in my head and he grabbed my neck shouting “I’ve seen you with another man!”. I couldn’t breathe so, with all my strength, I pushed him back and ran away. I couldn’t tell him that man was just my brother.

Drax

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. He was panting exhausted but I could only hear the beating of my heart. Under the car, I could see his footsteps and the trail of water that followed them.
He made no effort to disguise that he was there; after all, the one with the gun was not me. He appeared smiling on my left and, without saying a word, he shot.
When he was leaving, finally I could scream, “I’m telling mom on you!”

Solón

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. My clock was broken, but it might be late because of the darkness. I could hear somebody crying and a deep shout. Suddenly, everything was in silence. I was shivering and scared too, but something inside of me wanted to see what was happening with those men. Despite the fog I could see a strong man who was hiding the body of a policeman between the trash sacks. When I started to run, a torch shot me.
-Hey! What are you doing here? I can’t let you get away.

Connor McGregor

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. I could listen to my heartbeat.
Suddenly, I saw another airplane. This one was the biggest I’ve ever seen. At that moment, I remembered my parents’ advice: if you see a fighter plane, run; run as quick as you can and hide yourself somewhere under the ground.
I forgot that they were looking for me because I had stolen an apple to put some food into my mouth and I immediately got up and started to run. The next thing I remember is to hear a loud rumble pounding my ears.

Charming

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. I am very good at doing this; I’ve been raised to be the best at doing this. I am a ninja, the shadow in the dark which silently disappears when lights turn on.
Those goons were nagging me and they didn’t even know who they were messing with. They must think they’re tough and ruthless, but they’re just noisy idiots.
Why were those morons in need of disturbing me? Humans are so disappointing that I can just meow at hem.

Meowster Meow

I crouched behind the car, trying not to make a sound. I knew he would find me soon, but I moved and watched him closely. My heart beat at the rhythm of his steps, faster and faster.
- How could I love him so blindly?
Thoughts swirled in my head while I was running with all my might. He also ran faster. He grabbed my hair like he was crazy. I struggled with his gun pointing at me. Time was running out! I closed my eyes waiting, unable to think.
The movie director’s voice floated toward my ears.
-Cut!!
-Scenes are perfect! Thank you. We’ll shoot the next one.
